Who Are We?
The Deer Creek Youth Choir includes singers from the greater Baltimore region: Baltimore and Harford Counties and Southern PA. DCYC is committed to developing each singer’s vocal technique, music literacy, performance discipline, self-esteem & ability to work well with others. We strive to provide a welcoming and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable to express themselves while working towards a common goal with their peers.
Founded in 2017 with only 17 singers, DCYC has nearly tripled in size. DCYC is supported by the Deer Creek Chorale (DCC), the premiere adult choral ensemble in Harford and Northern Baltimore Counties. In line with the values of the DCC, the Deer Creek Youth Choir is committed to “singing locally and giving globally,” serving our community and the world. Our singers enjoy the opportunities for intergenerational singing through various collaborations with the Deer Creek Chorale each year and work with internationally renowned composers and clinicians each year at annual choral festivals and honor choir. With the expansion of 2 ensembles in the fall of 2018, Jubilate & Vivavce Choirs, we are excited to currently be welcoming singers in 2nd through 9th grade.
