Letter From the President

Christine Martin – President

Dear Members and Supporters,

I recently returned from the Chorus America conference where I had the opportunity to attend three days of classes and several concerts representing the diverse choirs in the Chicago area.  Artistic Director Marty Banghart and I learned about singer/audience connection, expression through performing, board and audience development, social media tools, and growth management.

Singing in the community of a choir is a valuable way of finding peace and civility in one’s everyday environment.  Singing feeds the soul and transports the audience.  Blending your voice with those surrounding you on every side is a powerful antidote to stress and a marvelous way to bond with others.  The Deer Creek Chorale and the Deer Creek Youth Choir are fortunate to share our voices with each other and with our audience and supporters.

For those of you with whom we’ve made a personal connection of inspiration, thank you for your continued support as we meet so many new (happy) challenges with our ever-expanding choirs and all the things that go with organizing, informing, and equipping the singers!

Be passionate about how you can contribute to your community through the power of song.  Please join our Board of Directors in the promotion and support of the choirs.

Enjoy the upcoming season!

Sincerely,

Christine Martin, Ph.D.                                                                                                                                                                      Board of Directors, President
