01/09/2021 – DCC – IMPORTANT SCHEDULE CHANGES

Hello all,

Given the current situation with COVID in our part of the world and after much consultation and consideration, we are making some adjustments to the rehearsal schedule. As we did last semester, every rehearsal will be streamed live on Zoom and a recording will be posted on our shared Google Drive, however, in-person rehearsals will be revised for the next 2 weeks as follows:

Tuesday, January 11

7:00 – 7:55    Sopranos/Tenors Only
8:05 – 9:00    Altos/Basses Only

Tuesday, January 18

7:00 – 7:55   Altos/Basses Only
8:05 – 9:00   Sopranos/Tenors Only

Singers will enter through the main lobby and leave via the back doors of the sanctuary. Please wear your masks and refrain from gathering in groups inside by maintaining the recommended 6 foot distancing.

By January 25th, we are hopeful that circumstances will have improved so that most of you will be comfortable rehearsing together as we did this past fall. We will let everyone know if additional adjustments will be required.

Since these rehearsals are only 1 hour long, and there will be fewer than 30 attending at a time, we believe this adjustment, along with our other policies (see below), will lessen the risk for those who wish to rehearse in-person. Please remember, we respect and support each individual singer’s decision regarding in-person rehearsals. You can’t make music unless you are comfortable and feel safe.
As a reminder and as communicated earlier, if you would like to attend in-person rehearsals, we ask that you do the following.
  • Get the COVID vaccination and booster.
  • Wear a mask and maintain social distancing while indoors
  • If you do not feel well, or exhibit any COVID-like symptoms, stay home. Take advantage of the stream/recording of the rehearsal and consider being tested for the virus.
  • If after attending a rehearsal you develop COVID-like symptoms and/or test positive for the virus, contact Marty or me immediately so that we can alert others. Names and other personal information will not be shared.

Please realize that we are a diverse family drawn together by our love for choral music. Marty and I realize there exists a wide range of emotions among us; fear, concern, disappointment, frustration, and even anger. Our hearts ache for each of you during this crazy, crazy time, and we so appreciate your patience with the adjustments and accommodations we are making. Please know that our concern for each individual’s health, safety and well-being is what drives us. Let’s hope that the bigger COVID picture continues to improve and and normalcy returns soon. In the meantime, stay safe, stay tuned, and use those learning files on our website!

We look forward to seeing you either in-person or on Zoom this Tuesday night!
