03/12/2020 – Coronavirus Update

COVID-19 and Deer Creek Chorale, Inc.

We take the health and safety of our patrons, singers, students, volunteers, contractors and staff very seriously. For this reason, we continue to monitor CDC reports on the threat and spread of COVID-19 (a type of coronavirus) and the impact it could have on spring rehearsals and performances. Our preliminary plan is as follows but is subject to change as necessity dictates.

  • Hand sanitizer is placed liberally around our rehearsal space and we encourage regular use.
  • We strongly suggest that everyone who attends rehearsals wash their hands or use sanitizer as soon as they enter rehearsal space.
o Wash your hands – use soap and water and wash for a minimum of 20 seconds; alcohol-based hand sanitizers are also effective
o Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
o Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and dispose of tissues after use
  • We are in regular communication with the staff of our rehearsal venue, Bethel Presbyterian Church, about their preventive measures and any illness in their congregation.
  • Patrons, singers, students, staff, and volunteers are encouraged to stay home if sick.
  • Deer Creek Chorale will follow Goucher College protocol. At this time, there are no cancellations, but we will update you by email if that changes! The following are some resources that provide more information about COVID-19
