03/31/2021 – Spring Break – No DCYC Rehearsal tomorrow!
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to remind everyone that we will not be having rehearsal tomorrow, April 1st. I hope everyone has a great spring break and happy Easter!
As things start to get busier over the next few weeks, please take a moment to “like” us on Facebook and stay up to date with all of our upcoming activities and events!
During this week off from our regular rehearsal please encourage your singers to share a video of themselves singing a couple of the different solos on Flipgrid (see below) and continue to work on memorizing their music (link to google drive with learning files below)! We have 3 rehearsals left before our night of recording on April 29!!
Don’t forget – Combined Rehearsal schedule (April 8th, 15th, 22nd)
Treble 1: 5:15-6:45pm
Treble 2: 6:00-7:30pm
April 29 Recording Night : All singers 5-7:45pm
Calling New Singers!
Now is the time to start spreading the word about Deer creek youth choir to friends and other musical children you know! We will be finalizing June audition dates soon and plans for our May DCYC bring a friend to rehearsal night!

Thursday | April 22nd | 5-9pm
Support Deer Creek Choirs by having dinner/ice cream before or after DCYC rehearsal! We are looking for parent volunteers to stand at a Deer Creek table and share info about our organization! Please sign up via the link in Melissa’s email!
Fundraising FYI – Just a reminder that the Adult Chorale and the Youth Choir are just different choirs under the same organization – Deer Creek Chorale. All fundraising efforts equally support all ensembles! Thank you so much for your generous support!
Flipgrid Solos Auditions
I’ve added a few new videos to our DCYC Flipgrid page. We have a number of solo opportunities in our Spring Repertoire and they will audition by sharing a video on our Flipgrid Page. This is a page we used last spring and this fall so you will see a variety of “topics” listed. Seasons of Love, I See Colors and Al Shlosha are the current songs with solos this Spring. You do need to login to use flipgrid – but once you’ve done it the first time, it shouldn’t ask your child again. Flipgrid is regularly used by educators and should be accessible from a chromebook/school computer.
DCYC Learning Files
Please encourage your child to keep practicing their DCYC music in between Thursdays! Please help your singer find a way they can consistently access these recordings – either through downloading or bookmarking the google folder. Click here to access the google drive folder for our DCYC Learning Files. Under “Spring 2021”, you will find 2 folders – one for each voice part.
