04/19/2022 – DCYC April/May schedule
Dear DCYC Families,
I hope you all had a wonderful spring break and are refreshed and ready for the final few weeks of the school year! I can’t believe we will soon wrap up our DCYC season as well!
We had a wonderful trip to Philadelphia and Princeton. Our DCYC tour singers were wonderful stewards of our organization and had a great time together with lots of singing and sightseeing and socializing. Touring and traveling as choir is such a great opportunity for our students and we look forward to more DCYC trips in the future!
Vivace singers will be joining the Deer Creek Chorale and Goucher Choirs for their spring concert, Darkness to Light, this Sunday, April 24th at 4pm at Goucher’s Kraushaar Auditorium. Poster Attached!
Here’s a look at the next few weeks:
Thursday, April 21 | Rehearsals at Bethel (Jubilate 5:15-6:30pm and Vivace 6:45-8:30pm) Vivace’s rehearsal is extended to allow for a special rehearsal with guest conductor/composer, Dr. Danny McDavitt in preparation for this weekend’s concert.
Vivace ONLY – Saturday, April 23 | Rehearsal with Orchestra @ Goucher. Meet in lobby at 9:45am outside Kraushaar Auditorium. Wear Teal DCYC T-shirts. We will be finished by 11:30am.
Vivace ONLY – Sunday, April 24 | Call time 3:45pm @ Goucher – Concert begins at 4pm. Black Formal Concert Attire DCYC Vivace singers will watch the first half of the concert (they perform in the 2nd half). This concert is ticketed – tickets available at www.deercreekchorale.org and at the door. DCYC singers DO NOT need a ticket.
Tuesday, April 26 | 6-7:30pm Annual Deer Creek Membership Meeting & Dinner – Held at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Fallston (3345 Charles Street) (Bethel was not available). DCYC Singers are encouraged to attend with their parents. RSVP by TONIGHT, 4/19 and sign up to bring something to share here: https://www.
Thursday, April 28 | Combined Rehearsal Schedule @ Bethel (Jubilate 5:15-7pm and Vivace 6:15-8pm)
Thursday, May 5 | 5:30-7:30pm Concert Dress Rehearsal at Chestnut Grove Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville. Wear Teal DCYC Shirt.
Saturday, May 7 | 7pm Deer Creek Youth Choir’s Spring Concert, Hold Fast to Dreams. Donations accepted. Call time for singers: 6pm, Formal Black Concert Attire.
Thursday, May 12 | 6-7:30pm – Bring a Friend Night! Invite your friends and fellow singers and their parents to come and see what DCYC is all about. All DCYC singers should join us for singing, games & and ice cream! Bethel Presbyterian – singers should wear their Teal DCYC Shirts.
