May 8, 2016 was Mother’s Day and the DCC celebrated with “No Ordinary Women:A Tribute to Mothers. Composer Gwyneth Walker was our guest and with the performance of her The Rose, the Briar and the Bicycle, we honored Judy Famous with a guest appearance of one of her past oboe students Heather Killmeyer. Another special woman is Harriet Tubman.
