09/12/2021 – DCYC Practice Recordings & October 2nd Performance
Dear DCYC Families,
Thank you all so much for an awesome start to our 2021-2022 season! It was great to see so many of you at our welcome night and we had a wonderful first night of rehearsals on Thursday!
We are jumping in with both feet as we quickly learn and prepare to perform on Saturday October 2nd. It’s imperative that your children practice at home in between Thursdays. They should do so by listening to our DCYC Learning Files while following along in their music binder. Please encourage them to work in 15 minutes of practice time each day! You’ll find that there are multiple folders for different voice harmony parts in the main google drive folder. Your child’s part assignment is on the front of their choir binder (Treble 1/Treble 2 or Soprano/Middle/Alto). If you have any question about which part/tracks your child should be listening to, don’t hesitate to check with me!
Tickets Available @ www.deercreekchorale.org (If singers would like to stay and have a box dinner, they will need a ticket)
We hope that many of you will be able to join us for this special concert, picnic dinner & annual fundraiser for the Deer Creek Choirs. It has been a very challenging two years for choral organizations like ours, and your support means so much to us. Please know that ticket prices for this event are much higher than our other concerts will be throughout the year because it is a fundraiser. I understand that it might not be feasible for some singers/parents/families to purchase tickets to stay and enjoy the entire event. However, we really need all of our DCYC singers to be with us in order for this performance to be successful. If your child would just like to come and sing, you can watch your child perform (without purchasing tickets) at the top of the hill and take them home after our DCYC performance.
Don’t forget that our Panera Fundraiser is due in 2 weeks on Thursday September 23rd! Funds raised will go into an individual tour account for your singer. Also on September 23rd – please plan to join us at the end of our combined rehearsal for a special presentation from First Fruits Farms founder, Rick Bernstein, at 6:45pm.
We have a few spots left for our April 2022 tour to Philly, Princeton & NYC. Itinerary & details are attached. Please let me know if you/your child is interested in joining us! For those who have already signed up – I’ll be in touch soon about a Parent Meeting with our Tour Planner to answer questions and go over protocols for the trip.
Julie
