01/08/2021 – Marty’s Missives – Commencing a new year with excitement and purpose!!! Please read!!!
Dear folks,
Stay strong – make them wonder how you’re still smiling.”
We have had a tough time in more ways than one but music continues to provide us comfort, inspiration, joy and hope. I so look forward to being together in whatever form that takes.
Virtual rehearsals resume on January 19! Very excited to reconnect and SING. We will be doing some familiar pieces plus some new ones. The Mozart Requiem is on hold. Please go to our website, members login dcc/dcc and read my missive on December 18th. Very important information!!
On January 17, 2-3pm, we will be distributing music at Bethel. If weather permits, will be outside but if too cold, will be spread out in the sanctuary. Chance to wave and pick up materials. Wear masks!!!
In addition, our new president Steph has suggested that we use our meet and greet on Sunday to incorporate a community service component ( thanks to Sharon B. for her thoughtful comments about giving back to help those affected by the pandemic in our community). We are suggesting that each of us contribute non-perishable goods to help supply the Mason-Dixon Community Services – a non-profit human services agency whose mission is to provide high quality human services to low-income residents of northern Harford and southeastern York Counties. The agency offers emergency services (food, utility, and eviction prevention) as well as services designed to break the cycle of poverty. We appreciate your willingness to participate.
Thank you for continuing to be generous and positive. Our choral family is truly special. Any questions, let me know.
Marty
