1/13/2024 – Homework for Tuesday: edits for Ride the Chariot
Good afternoon,
I hope you’re all having a lovely start to the weekend. I have a little homework for you prior to rehearsal. I received word from Stacey Gibbs that the version of Ride the Chariot he sent wasn’t the final version. Attached is the final version with the highlighted changes from what you have printed. I’ve also typed them out below. Please have your scores marked reflecting the changes so our precious rehearsal time is used to sing! The list looks long but it’s really only a few changes.
M21 – A/T beat 3 is a quarter note. Text reads “ready my brother”
M25 – A/T text reads “want to see my Jesus”
M26 – S/T inverse the rhythms – dotted quarter on the and of 1, half note on 3. (Tutti beat 3 half noted for “I’m”)
M37 – the * should be over beat 3 indicating V2 text “snatched” is staccato
M38 – A/T/B V2 “clay” is a half note (“gonna” will only be sung in V1)
M41 – S/A/T/B V1 beat 4 is a quarter note on “were”
M42 – S sings “gonna” both V1 and V2
M42 -A/T/B V2 sings half note on beat 3 (“gonna” only on V1)
