1/31/2025 – Greetings on a dreary Friday

Dear friends,

I had such fun on Tuesday. It is joyful for me when we end at 9:00 having completed the tasks at hand. There is a reason for the syllabus. It ensures that we have no surprises come concert time. I also love when we have good attendance. On January 21, the basses were all present. Last week, the soprano 2 section and tenor 1 sections were complete. Let’s see what happens this coming Tuesday!!!

Now for the plan:

Warmups:
#3 round in different keys and formations.

An die Musik-if you would be interested in trying it as a solo, please let me know! Thanks to Katelyn and Steve for their performance last week. Check out our Facebook page.

Ride the Chariot- light, crisp, sudden dynamic contrasts, for memory.

With One Voice-most know by memory. Will be doing with 300!

Wide Open Spaces – enjoy learning this piece! It appeals to all who love adventure in nature and in our own lives.

Finish and drill Jubilate Deo. Get out of the music as much as you can. Very repetitious.

#4 Munera pacis- write in translation; will start at B to the end.

#2 Caritas- write in translation, start at C to the end. Lots of divisi. Might want to sit with your section.

If time, sing through movements 1 and 5.

We continue to be lucky with the weather. We only have four more rehearsals before our two concerts. Dress rehearsal for the SSO collaboration will be at 7 PM on March 7 at Bel Air high school. Please share the event with your friends and circulate the electronic poster.

Have a great weekend, stay well and see you on Tuesday.

Positively,
Marty
