10/06/2021 – Updates and Measure Numbers

Hello all,

Many thanks for the hard work last night in rehearsal. We made lots of progress. The key is to remember what we covered and then reinforce it with review, practice, and working with the learning files.

  • Learning File CDs – Many find it helpful to have a CD to put in their car CD player when they are out and about. If you still want one, please let me know via email, be sure to include your specific part, and I should have one for you at the next rehearsal.
  • Virtual Rehearsals – If you need to stay home from a rehearsal, we are streaming them on Zoom. IT IS CRITICAL THAT YOU MUTE YOUR MICROPHONE. If the microphone icon does not have a line through it, then you are broadcasting to everyone else. You are also being recorded. You won’t hear anything unusual, but everyone else will, so you have to intentionally check from time to time. Also, be aware that if you accidentally hit your space bar, that will turn your microphone back on…another good reason to keep checking to be sure you are still muted.
  • Rehearsal Recordings – The recording of each rehearsal is posted in our shared folder on Wednesday or Thursday each week. They are very large files, so I’m starting them after the warm-ups.
  • “Promise of Living” Measure Numbers – As Marty reminded us, there are no measure numbers in this Copland piece, so everyone needs to fill them in. Use the chart below as a guide to be sure your numbering is accurate.
