10/19/2021 – 5:45pm THIS Thursday – DCYC Fall Fun Night!

Dear DCYC Families,

It finally feels like fall and we are so excited to celebrate the cooler nights with a Fall Fun night and our combined rehearsal on Thursday!  This event has been on our DCYC 2021 Calendar but has snuck up on us!  The weather is perfect this week so we are moving forward as planned!

We would be grateful for your food donations or volunteer help to make Thursday a success.  Sign up to bring a food donation or volunteer HERE!

Here’s the schedule for this Thursday, 10/21:

5:45pm – ALL singers – Combined rehearsal
5:45pm – Norwex fundraiser demo from Tracey Grumbach will be set-up in the lobby for Parents to learn more!  See attached.
6:45pm – Dinner served to all singers (walking tacos)

7:00pm – Walk to the Bethel Fire Circle (behind the church office) for S’mores & Fellowship.  Families are invited to join us at the Fire Circle.

An important note: FUN events like this one are so important for your singer’s success and satisfaction in choir.  We work HARD in rehearsals.  There is very little time for them to chat and socialize week-to-week, so nights like this are so important for them to build relationships with each other and make friends.  If your child is struggling to feel connected at choir – please let me know so I can help connect them to some great friends their age this Thursday.

**Parents are asked to park in the regular parking lot – closest to the church entrance.  The Bethel Church Session has a meeting in the office building that night and they will need the spots in the office parking lot.

Formal Concert Attire has Arrived!

Singers will receive their formal concert attire this Thursday if they were not at rehearsal last week.  Please keep in mind – Dresses and Tuxedo Pants come in ONE LENGTH and must be hemmed to your child’s height.   Having the black dress shoes your child will wear in the November concert is an important step in hemming the dress/pants to the correct length!

Dresses: should be floor-length – when wearing black flat dress shoes, the dress should touch the top of the shoe.  We should not be able to see their ankles.  Always a good idea to hem a few extra inches to allow for growth!

Pants: Should be hemmed to the middle of the back of the sole of the dress shoes.  Always a good idea to hem a few extra inches to allow for growth!

Dry Cleaners can usually hem these items if you don’t have a family, friend, neighbor or church lady to help 🙂

Let me know if you have any questions or concerns!
