10/23/2021 – Friday missive a day late.

Dear Singers,

What a week this has been! Firstly, the rehearsal with Blake totally rocked!!! And his words at the conclusion of a most energetic 120 minutes were heartfelt. You all ARE very special and the music we produce transformational. What we need to do now is really dig into our selections, address problem spots, recite the text over and over in rhythm and let the different styles engulf us.  From Romantic to hoedown to original to Sesame Street, we have it all covered. Three rehearsals to the dress. Please don’t be absent, practice hard and be ready to show your stuff!!!

By the conclusion of this rehearsal, we will have gone through everything. Wayne is away this week so he gets as much time as he needs on November 2 for his two pieces. A special thanks to Greg for covering for Wayne and getting us all set up. Will start right at 7.

In preparation for my interview on Thursday, had the opportunity to go down memory lane. What a ride. And in my exploration, I came across an article about our own Wayne when he was Will Rogers!!! I just had to share!!! What glory days!!

I also want to thank our board and committee members for working hard to keep us solvent and on the cutting edge. Please visit our updated website. It takes constant effort to stay relevant in this internet age and with Don and Melissa’s help, we are improving. This month we renew our membership to Choral Tracks managed by Wayne. This is a big investment but think you would all agree it is an important one. And thanks to our investment in artistic leadership, we are able to have folks like Blake teach us new things. We are truly blessed as an organization and appreciate all that goes on behind the scenes. If anyone is interested in joining that team, please let our president Steph know.

Think that is a wrap!!!! Practice hard, stay well (get my booster Monday) and be kind!!!

Musical hugs,

Marty
