10/27/2023 – What a gorgeous day!
Dear folks,
We are getting so close to concert time. Eight folks out last week so getting better. As you practice this week, use the all voices file and see if you can keep your part. Circle any problem spots and address them. Come with questions as we go through as much of the program as we can. At this point, we cannot take a lot of time with each piece so please do the work beforehand.
Warm-ups volume I number 16 through 18. All about the Z which gets the tone in the front of the mask of the face. volume VI number 5 with words.
We will be working backwards on the program so we will start with How can I keep from singing. Check out our virtual choir on YouTube. It is also on your learning file. We will do all pieces with soloists and as much of it for memory. The more you know your text, the more you can get out of the book. Also, practice in front of a mirror and look at yourself. Do you have facial expression? Do your eyes light up as you sing? Do you radiate energy as you annunciate the text? This is one of our biggest challenges, to tell the story through our music AND our faces.
Only have a few posters left. Please put them up everywhere and send out the PDF to your contact list. Let’s pack the place!
Need a few more ads and if you want to honor someone in the program, it is a great way to show gratitude.
Thank you, Patty, for presenting the pajama project to the choir. What an easy and wonderful way to support our adopted organization.
And another congrats to our amazing Sharon, for being named a Harford most beautiful person. She certainly is a beautiful person in DCC!!!!
And the results are in. Our fundraiser turned out to be the best ever, and all the figures will be in the next treasurer’s report. All of the minutes and treasurer reports can be accessed on our website in the Board of Directors section. Another congratulations to all those involved. So proud of what we can do together!
And now I would like to share a story from Jean Sack about how small this world is. I asked Jean if I had permission to share it. It is such a great story.
See you All on Tuesday ready to rock ‘n’ roll at 7 PM and depending on how well we do will depend on what time we break for our big harvest party hosted by your own board. We have a lot to celebrate.
Just on impulse, I paid $20 for #49 sack of the mystery wine pull – David opened the bag after I returned from practice and exclaimed “Washington State wine?! From Horse Heaven?!!” Incredible pick!
