10/28/2021 – Weekly missive a day early!!!
Dear friends,
I simply couldn’t wait. Tuesday was such fun and you all really did make improvements. Just think what three weeks of practice, practice, practice will produce!!!
I am so proud of how we have managed these past two years! I actually think we have even more spirit, compassion and love for singing and the choral art. And our new members after only six rehearsals are rockin’ it. AND we have more people than ever with perfect attendance. Can’t tell you how good that makes me feel. AND Blake said I could share these pics of his new place AND our new NHHS Choral Director after her first in person concert last night. AND one more. Beth and Don shared that Blake paid the DCC a huge compliment. That the DCC “is the best non-auditioned choir he has ever heard”!
Tuesday, will focus on the first set of music: The Earth Provides, To my old brown earth, For the Fruit of all Creation (audition solo) and I am in the Need of Music. If time, will run other pieces as well.
In Sing, altos need to straighten out pages 9 and 10. And sopranos on the same pages, we are top heavy and screechy. Please take the Alto 1 part if you don’t have a clear, floaty sustained high tessitura. Thanks.
Concert dress:
ladies- gown/long plain black dress, flat black shoes and pearls.
Others: tuxedo/black trousers, shirt and black tie. Would prefer anyone who has a tux to wear it.
It is imperative that everyone show up Tuesday with music in order in a black folder. Will check.
Tickets will be on sale at rehearsal. Rates the same as the past 10 years. Can also be purchased online.
Do think about giving anniversary T-shirts for holiday presents. Meaningful item for 15.00 is a good deal!!!
That is a wrap for today. Have a great weekend and see you Tuesday. And welcome home Wayne and thanks Greg for your help this past Tuesday.
Musically yours
Marty
