11/14/2021 – Concert week reminders!
Dear DCYC Families,
Happy concert week! I’m so excited for our singers to share their performance with all of you next weekend. Some very important reminders for this week:
Concert attire: please double and triple check that your child has all of their uniform pieces and that they fit! If you are missing anything please let me know right away!
Boys: white shirt, green tie, black vest, black pants – hemmed, black socks, black dress shoes, DCYC singers mask*
Girls: Black dress hemmed, black flat dress shows, DCYC singers mask*
Please note: The DCC board has decided that ALL singers performing on Sunday will wear a mask. While we were able to allow for some flexibility with our mask policy in our small group rehearsals, Sunday is a different situation. Singing in close proximity to each other (and sometimes in a combined choir of 100 singers on Sunday’s program) plus an audience of 500-600 requires a different policy. Our singer’ safety is our number one priority.
I handed out MANY extra singer’s masks this past Thursday to kids who said they had lost theirs. Please take a good look for your child’s mask. If your child is still in need of a mask – please let me know ASAP and I will have one for them Tuesday.
Tuesday’s Rehearsal:
5:15-7:30pm at St Ignatius Catholic Church – Hickory, MD (traffic is always a mess around bel air at 5pm so PLEASE leave extra time so you are on time!) We need every minute to rehearse and get acclimated in this new space.
What to wear: Teal DCYC shirt and singers mask!
What to Bring: DCYC Binder, Water Bottle, $5 for pizza dinner or your own dinner.
Dinner Break on Tuesday: Given the long rehearsal during dinner time, we will give our singers a dinner break in the church choir room. We will have pizza, fruit, chips, cookies and water bottles, and we will ask kids to bring $5 each to cover it. If they would rather pack a dinner that is fine too.
Thursday’s rehearsal is still happening as scheduled. If that changes after Tuesday’s rehearsal I will let you know.
Tickets will be available at Tuesday’s rehearsal at 7pm.

Concert time: 4pm-5:15pm
