11/20/2023 – Post concert euphoria!

Wow, folks, yesterday was amazing!!! When I envisioned this project 18 months ago at a grant meeting with Sue Hill in attendance, and she piped up and said, “oh, I am a member of the Flying Geese Quilt Guild”, I knew that it was going to happen. And look what evolved! I hope you had as much fun as I did. I must admit that running the combined works just once and not having a chance to start each piece worried me, but you all quieted my nerves with your confident and inspired singing. And your faces lit up the stage. And the audience! Counting us, there were over 600 folks there. That is quite a feat!  The word spread and online sales were coming through at 4:00!!!

Our professional team, volunteers, board members, donors, videographers, designers, photographer, quilt members and the list goes on as to the folks that made the afternoon run smoothly. I am so thankful for all!

I never thought on January 10, 2022 when we were evicted from Bethel, Presbyterian Church, that the stars would align, and the DCC would see such growth and a new life! I think the Randall Stroope piece summed up what life and love are all about and your voices communicated that text in an emotional and magical way. The audience certainly felt it!

I am so privileged to be your director and will miss our Tuesday nights together, but January 16 marks a new semester and a new musical adventure.  Get your music out and start listening and learning. We are going to have a blast!
