12/19/2021 – Holiday Greetings from Sanibel!
Dear folks,
I hope this note finds you well and enjoying the final preparations for Christmas. And of course I hope you have been singing away whether in church, in school, in the shower, caroling or Heaven forbid, with the learning files preparing for January 4.
I have gone to some lovely concerts and tonight heard the Fort Myers Symphonic Mastersingers and lo and behold, the director studied with Dr. Paul Rardin and Rollo Dilworth at Temple and earned her masters in 2019. Had a lovely chat and shared some stories. Made me miss you all!!!
Didn’t you love the Ladies Six Christmas Card?! Please share with your friends and family. Makes a wonderful message to folks both near and far. A special thank you to Mark Van Nostrand for the magic touch and creativity he brought to the project.
And speaking of Mark, he is putting the final touches on the recording of our November concert. Will let you know when ready. Please email me if you are interested in a DVD.
The new syllabus and updated learning files will be posted on the website December 26th. Can’t wait to get back to work. We have an exciting semester coming up and I can’t wait to delve into the Mozart.
If you know of any good singers looking for a musical home, please direct them our way. And that goes for the DCYC as well. Info is on the website.
A sincere note of gratitude to all those who supported our Fall appeal with a donation. A gift of any size is so appreciated.
I have read some wonderful books lately. Attached is a fascinating read about Mozart!!! And the movie Green Fingers. I love good suggestions so if you have any, please pass along.
And a big thank you to the Chamber Choir for representing us so well at the December 12th Rejoice holiday concert sponsored by the Maryland Center for the Arts. It is available on YouTube.
Here’s wishing you a glorious and joyous Christmas and a smashingly good New Year. I look forward to seeing everyone in 2022 and embarking on new and exhilarating musical adventures.
Feeling blessed,
Marty
