12/22/2024 – Christmas week upon us

Dear friends,

It is hard to believe that our Fall concert was four weeks ago! I often visit our YouTube channel and start my morning listening to one of our pieces from that performance. I know many of you have been busy with school concerts, special church services, performances of Messiah, Christmas caroling, and other singing engagements bringing joy to your listeners. This Christmas Eve at Saint Michaels of all Angels, I will be singing Gesu Bambino and O Holy Night, but believe it or not, my voice is still not 100%. Very frustrating.

I am very excited about the spring semester. You can access the syllabus here, and since most of you have your music, when you have some downtime, give a listen. We will be covering a lot of repertoire in preparation for the March 8, 9 weekend. Coming prepared to rehearsals will facilitate that process. And of course, make it more fun!

Registration is open until January 1. At this point, we have two new Sopranos and one new tenor and a returning bass. If you know of any folks that have expressed interest, they need to act fast.

Perfect attendance is a beautiful thing and I appreciate the commitment that these folks have exhibited. Congratulations to the following:

Soprano: Janet Ayers, Rebecca Monnier, Laurie Woodburn, Patty Ballinger, Ugo Obineme, Wendy Scheinberg, Mary Sue Shaw and Donna Wilson

Alto: Hope Ledebur, Barb Waite, Gretchen Young, Donna Gotsch, Sue Hill, Meredith Leroy and Cris Martin

Tenor: Jeff Ayres, David Dasch, Jennifer Hayes, Lance Ledebur

Bass: Greg Arment, Rafi Fernandez

And thank you to our section leaders for their help with this task and being available to answer questions and support their section. And to Rafi for always helping with whatever task is at hand!!!

Here’s wishing you all a blessed holiday season and a healthy and happy 2025 filled with beautiful and inspiring music making! I look forward to January 21st and that first chord!!!

Gratefully and with love,

Marty
