2/13/2026 – Happy Valentine’s Weekend!
Good morning, friends,
Another hard-working rehearsal! Thank you for your preparation and diligent practice. As we move forward on some difficult music, your attention to text, intervals, and tricky rhythms will pay off.
Here is our plan for this Tuesday:
Warm-ups:
#6 and 8
We are the Music Makers
At the River-2 soprano volunteers. Let me know if you want to go for it!!!!
Sogno di Volare-listen to examples on YouTube. The introduction on the Stay-at-Home Choir channel is very interesting. Includes interview with composer.
Gloria-meas. 1-70
Sanctus-meas. 1-55
Make sure you have put in all markings from Paul. Dig deep!!!
I Can feel the Spirit-meas. 1-72. First speak rhythms in short doots, then words and then pitches. Syncopations rule!!!! It will be tons of fun once learned!
On Wings of Song-meas. 1-20
A special thanks to all of you for stepping up on the blessing bags project. We almost doubled the amount and because of that, the Chestnut Grove can be more generous to their families in need. Thank you to Corky for organizing.
Julie and Melissa represented DCC at the Maryland arts Day in Annapolis. Special thanks to them for being our advocates.
And a couple dates to put on your calendar. Ebb and flow perform at Edenwald on February 20 at 7:30 PM and again at the Manor Mill on April 19 at 3 PM. Tickets are now available on their website.
March 8, the chamber choir will give its final concert of the season at Saint James church at 3 PM. The event is posted on Facebook and Instagram.
Please share with your friends and family all of the wonderful things that the DCC is doing. We have an active social media presence but need you to share and like! And also, I would appreciate any support of my birthday fundraiser, which can be found on my page.
Thank you to all who have reached out to David and Ruth, and we continue to send them prayers of healing.
Have a wonderful weekend and see you soon! Warmer temperatures are coming!
Warm hugs,
Marty
