02/03/2022 – DCYC Combined Rehearsal Tomorrow & Tour Update!

Dear DCYC Parents,
We have had 2 great in-person rehearsals and I’m excited to see our singers again tomorrow evening!

Tomorrow we will follow our COMBINED REHEARSAL SCHEDULE:
Jubilate | 5:15-7pm
Vivace | 6:15-8pm
We hold combined rehearsals a few times each semester to allow crossover time for our Jubilate and Vivace singers to rehearse together (as they almost always sing some songs together in performances).
Spring 2022 Combined Rehearsals: 2/3, 2/24, 3/10, 3/31, 4/28

Looking ahead to March & April – we have some exciting festivals and concerts coming up! (I apologize for the typo in the calendar I sent recently – the first festival is on Saturday March 12).

Please make sure you have these dates on your child’s calendar and let me know ASAP if there are any conflicts.

Saturday, March 12 | 10am-4pm | With One Voice Festival with Goucher Choirs & DCC. Free Concert @ 4pm – Towson United Methodist Church. Singers will bring their own bag lunch. We will be looking for baked good/snack donations for the afternoon. We are excited to share that the Coast Guard Academy Glee Club will be joining us to perform at the concert! The concert will also feature special guest speakers from First Fruits Farm, our 2021-2022 charitable partner.

Saturday, March 19 | 12-6pm | Maryland Young Voices Festival – bringing together youth choirs from across the state for a day of singing and sharing, and a concert @5pm.  We will follow an abbreviated schedule to avoid joint meals and will now be held at Maryland State Boychoir Center for the Arts – Baltimore, MD.

Saturday April 2 | 1-3pm | Dress Rehearsal @ St. Joseph Catholic Church

Sunday, April 3  | 4pm | DCYC Tour Send Off Concert at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Cockeysville. Free will offering (all singers perform, even if not going on tour) Post Concert Potluck @ Ms. Julie’s House (10 min. from St. Joseph Church)

DCYC Tour Update

As of January, Philadelphia is now requiring proof of vaccination in all restaurant establishments. We are going to be adjusting our tour plans to move meals out of the city. We are also very excited to announce that following our church performance on Sunday, we will be concluding the tour with a day at Six Flags Great Adventure! The switch from the Franklin Institute to Six Flags might slightly increase the tour cost – but it should be minimal ($10-15 more). I’m attaching the tour itinerary with the pricing that we set in September 2021. We do still have a couple spots open on the bus if any singers/chaperones would still like to join us. We would need to have you register ASAP and payment is due in full by the end of February.

Please let me know if you have any questions! I’ll be in touch with the final updates itinerary soon!

Julie
