4/11/2025 – Greetings from Sanibel!
Dear folks,
Firstly, since so many of you have been praying for Ray and supporting me while he has been undergoing treatments, the word is that your prayers have worked! Ray and Treble picked me up at the airport in the new truck and he had just had his last treatment. A long seven weeks, but because he was willing to double up on radiation for the neck and ribs, he decreased his time by two weeks. Now is the waiting game until he has tests, but we are very positive!
Secondly, here is the order of the program:
Let all the world
Great is Thy Faithfulness
Saturn
In time of silver rain
Sing out, my soul
Goucher Choral Society
Intermission
Te Deum
Illuminare
Rehearsal schedule:
April 22 –7 to 9 PM – Chestnut Grove
April 29-7 to 9 PM – Merrick Hall at Goucher College
May 6-7-9:45pm Kraushaar at Goucher with orchestra
May 10- Report time 5:30pm, concert 7pm
Concert dress: nice all black, like the SSO concert. Women pearls.
Rehearsal went well on Tuesday night, but there were some problem spots which hopefully you marked. Please revisit over the next two weeks. Since there is no rehearsal on April 15, kindly use that evening to get more familiar with text, rhythms, notes, dynamics, and all the Bits and pieces that make for a brilliant performance.
A couple interesting articles. One about our dear friend, Joan Hodous whose 90th birthday will be celebrated on April 23 at the Liriodendron at the Harford County arts gathering. Ebb and Flow has been invited to provide entertainment.
And a nice article in the Delta Star.
Please spread the word and send the electronic version of the poster to your friends and family. Also put on your Facebook/Instagram page. 90% of audiences are created by the people on stage! Paper tickets will be available at rehearsals and are available online on our website.
Have a wonderful week. I will miss you! Stay well, practice and be grateful. I certainly am!
-Marty
