4/3/2026 – I have missed you!

Dear friends,

I hope you have all had a wonderful week preparing for spring and singing wherever that might be. This is probably the first year 45 that I have not sung for Easter. I am enjoying Ray’s last few days here before he sets off to Sanibel.

Schedule for April 7:
Warm-ups #’s 12 and 13
We are the Music Makers
I will be a Child of peace
*********************************

Sing unto the Sky with solos and movement. Put down your music!!!

On Wings of Song
I can Feel the Spirit

Think of all the takeaways from Jason. These two pieces should be almost concert ready. Transfer the words on to cards if that helps you internalize the texts.

Homeland – I hope you enjoyed the video that I sent you. This is a very recognizable theme from Jupiter by Gustav Holst. Stroope has altered it somewhat and added the middle section. We will be doing this with orchestra at the end of the concert. It should be a stirring end, dedicating the performance to our 250th anniversary.

Review all of the Mass. We will be digging into problem spots and putting it all together with solos and children’s choir. I asked you to become familiar with the solos and the Soprano 1’s to sing the children’s choir part. We will start with the last movement.

On April 9-12, 18 members will be representing the DCC at Carnegie Hall when they will be presenting a world premiere of Franklin by Z. Randall Stroope. Also, at that time, our commissioned piece Hands will be performed on the sacred Carnegie stage. I am sure there will be many stories to tell!

I am hoping that you will support the ladies on April 19 at 3:30 at the Manor Mill. If you haven’t been there before, it is really worth a visit. There are a limited number of tickets and you need to purchase them from the website. Here is the link.

That is it for now. I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday. Time is marching on and before you know it, you’ll be working with Paul on April 28 at Goucher. I will be sending out the complete rehearsal schedule next week.

Take care and be joyful,

Marty
