5/07/2025 – Final thoughts on “In Time of Silver Rain”
Thanks to all for your efforts in last night’s marathon!
Since we didn’t have time to discuss in rehearsal, a few things needing attention:
1. Diction-Overall, REALLY great! I think “new” would be even better if we get our eyebrows involved, just like Michael showed us with “lux.”
2. Dynamics-Almost there…The soft parts can still be softer, and don’t be afraid to do a little bit more with crescendos and decrescendos.
3. Don’t slow down! Our issue last night wasn’t so much that we were slowing down, but that we never really got to the tempo I was trying to set. I think it would be very helpful to write a note to yourself to WATCH at m. 10 so we’re unified.
4. Notes-things got a little funky at the bottom of page 11. I would greatly appreciate it if you could review and solidify there between now and Saturday. It’s at about the 1:50 marker on the learning files.
As Michael said, it’s too good (and you’re too good!) not to nitpick, and Jeff’s narration will be a tough act to follow!
