01/14/2022 – My SO BUMMED missive
My dear singer friends,
What can I say? Seems like we take one step forward and two steps back!!! I am so disheartened but I refuse to let it get to me. Together we can do anything and if our methods vary in order to keep us safe, that is what we will do. Fortunately numbers are starting to head down so keep praying!!
Bottom line, Wayne and I will hold a virtual rehearsal on January 18th and I implore you to join us so we can see each other. We will do it by sections A/B 7-7:55 and S/T 8:05-9. We will be taking attendance.
After a short greeting and possible surprise, we will cover this material. Please have your music in order. It is imperative that you have music so you can participate to the fullest.
Warmups: solfege patterns, Vol. 1 7-10; Lord, Give me just a Little More Time entire piece (sopranos sing solo parts); focus on the Agnus Dei, especially starting at meas. 82 and will end if time with Hand in Hand.
Like the Baltimore Choral Arts, we hope to be up and running by January 24th. I appreciate everyone’s encouraging words and understanding during this Covid mess. Just keep dreaming of that first chord when we are once again making glorious music together!
And an added note from Melissa. She has been working hard on getting your music requests together. Here is a reminder of what you need:
