Ebb and Flow

Introducing the Women’s Ensemble – Ebb and Flow

In spite of the Covid-19 pandemic, good things DID happen. When all rehearsals shut down and singing was labeled a super spreader, Artistic Director Martha Banghart wanted to give the choral community a special holiday gift. In the Fall of 2020, she found 6 ladies willing to rehearse outside in the cold with masks to prepare a musical Christmas card. Filmed at the magnificent Starbright Farm by videographer Mark Van Nostrand, the Ladies Six was introduced to the internet world. Because of the overwhelming response to the performance, the ladies wanted to do more SSAA music for fun. They performed at an outside concert in May of 2021 an arrangement of America which so moved the audience that a film shoot was scheduled. The result was the performance of America which was launched on July 4th and viewed by 1,000’s. In 2023, the ensemble was renamed Ebb and Flow. Rehearsals are held sporadically when preparing for a project. When an opening becomes available, interested singers can sign up for an audition. Advanced musicianship and performance skills are required.
