06/09/2021 – 2021-2022 Season + BIG Announcement!
Dear DCYC Singers and Families,
I hope that all of you will be able to join us for at least one (if not all!) of our summer events! I’m so happy to be able to get back to more of the fun social parts of DCYC – it’s so important to help keep our singers connected and motivated!
We are busy planning for next season, and I’m excited to share a sneak peak of our 2021-2022 calendar with you (attached). As you have probably heard, next year is a big year for the Deer Creek Chorale, our adult choir, as they will celebrate their 15th Anniversary Season! They have been invited to perform the Alzheimer Stories (an incredible work they performed at Goucher back in 2017) at Carnegie Hall next April.
I am thrilled to announce that the Youth Choir will be traveling alongside the DCC on our own Spring Tour to Philadelphia, Princeton and New York City! The tour will include a clinic with esteemed choral faculty at Temple University, a joint concert with the Princeton Girlchoir/Boychoir, attending the DCC performance of Alzheimer Stories at Carnegie Hall, a performance in NYC and wrapping up the 3 day weekend with a Broadway show! A full itinerary is attached.
It’s going to be an amazing tour and we want as many of our singers and parents to be a part of it as possible! While all singers are welcome to attend, those who are under 10 should have a parent chaperone on the trip with them. As you might have heard from many of our singer testimonials at Bring a Friend Night – so many of their favorite memories are from our time together on tour (Cincinnati in 2019). Experiencing world class performances and performing in different cities with other young singers is a life-changing experience! The Ironbirds game in August will be our first tour fundraiser, and we look forward to planning many more to make this trip a reality for our singers!
We will travel together by Coach Bus for the entirety of the trip. Given the group cost of the bus, the exact tour cost per person will depend on the total number of participants. We anticipate it being between $824-854 (based on quad occupancy).
To gauge interest from our singers and hold our current tour quote, we need a $75 deposit for each traveler by June 25th. You can mail a check to Deer Creek Chorale, 4135 Norrisville Rd, White Hall. Alternatively, you can drop off a check at Bethel during our Audition Night this Thursday from 5-6:30pm or bring it to the Pool Party on June 17th.
