07/30/2021 – News from our 2019-2021 collaborative partner
Thank you to all who supported our partnership with the Gunpowder Riverkeeper GRK. It proved to be very educational, especially the four river walks that many participated in. Please continue to protect our water systems and the special area in which we live. And please renew your membership to show your continued support of the GRK. Next year we will be partnering with the First Fruits Farm. Put September 25th on your calendar and stay tuned.

Support Our Work
Even though our name is Gunpowder RIVERKEEPER®, we have been working in the following watersheds since 2014; the Gunpowder, Gunpowder Falls, Little Gunpowder, Bird, Middle, and Bush Rivers. We take responsibility for protecting and conserving these Rivers and their watersheds for the benefit of the public.

Your generous support enables us to:
Provide capacity in our appeal against EPA on MDE’s “Pollution Diet” that violates the Clean Water Act and failed to set pollution limits for the major source of PCBs in the Gunpowder and Bird Rivers.
Continue our appeal of the MDE Wetlands and Waterways Permit that would allow Abingdon Woods-330-acres containing significant forested wetlands, 85 specimen trees and a High-Quality Tier II stream to be converted to a 2.5 million square foot business park.
Support our complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia to vacate EPA’s rewritten “Waters of the U.S.” rule – known as the Navigable Waters Protection rule that rolled back federal oversight of up to half the country’s wetlands and around a sixth of its streams.
File Petitions for Judicial Review in Harford and Baltimore Counties, MD on the MDE Wetland and Waterways Permit to Protect Wetlands, Waterways and Sensitive Species on the I-95 Extended Toll Lanes Project.
