12/15/2023 – Greetings from Sanibel!

Dear friends,

What a busy month this has been!! The DCC artistic team has been busy with holiday concerts. I want to thank the Chamber Choir and DCYC for sharing their gifts with the community at Ladew Topiary Gardens, Maryland Center for the Arts and Edenwald.

A special congrats to Roy for being named the new accompanist for the Frederick Chorale. Don’t worry, they rehearse on Sunday evenings.

We welcome 8 new singers next semester including the return of Mary Sue, Patrice and Barron.

Attached you will find the new syllabus. It would be helpful if you get a head start, especially on the commissioned piece Ride the Chariot. That will need to be memorized by February 6 when we will be recording it for the publishing company. Have fun with it. All of the music can be found on the learning files so enjoy becoming familiar with the new repertoire.

I want to thank all of you who so generously supported your DCC this past semester through our fundraiser, auction, pajama drive for LASOS, fall appeal, Fabric of Gratitude concert tickets, etc. We are only as strong as the belief we share in the power of music to enrich and change lives. The DCC exemplifies that!

Here’s wishing you all a blessed holiday season and a happy and healthy 2024. I look forward to restarting on January 16 and making glorious music together.
