Jason Max Ferdinand Visits DCC Rehearsal

The choristers were feeling extra lucky as Jason Max Ferdinand, Director of Choral Activities at the University of Maryland, College Park guest conducted rehearsal on St. Patrick’s Day. Jason came filled with ideas and techniques to help elevate the work the chorale is doing and by the end of the rehearsal, the sounds coming from the sanctuary had a new richness of tone and depth of meaning.

Jason was also incredibly complimentary of DCC, saying,

  • “There’s a strong sense of focus and willingness in the group. The singers were clearly engaged and open to trying new ideas, which made the rehearsal feel productive and collaborative.
  • I was especially struck by the musical sensitivity they brought to the music — there’s a good foundation of listening and responsiveness that can really elevate the ensemble’s sound as they continue refining details.
  • You’ve built a strong sense of community and that is great to see. Overall, it was a pleasure to work with them, and I’m excited for where they can take things next.”

Thank you, Jason, for taking time out of your schedule to be with DCC! We are better because of it.
