Coincidental (or not?) Connections and our Stellar DCC Accompanist

I read the bio of our DCC piano accompanist. . . Doctor of Musical Arts degree in organ performance from the University of Missouri-Kansas City Conservatory of Music. Could it be, I thought? That’s where I studied with Dr. John Obetz!! YES! Dr. Belfield also studied with John Obetz, concert organist and instructor at UMKC. I am so pleased about that connection! A ‘trivial pursuit’ question for you readers…did Dr. Roy concertize on this 6000+, nationally renowned Aeolian Skinner instrument while studying with Dr. John?

DCC is so fortunate to have Dr. Roy as our accompanist. He is a highly skilled keyboard player, so musically sensitive, intuitive in rehearsal, skillful in supporting vocal parts in rehearsal, passionate about the arts and their social expression, and so humble about all that giftedness. He is our treasure!
