To The Hands – A Remarkable Afternoon We Won’t Soon Forget
Sunday, November 24th was a quintessential fall day. A perfect setting for a concert! What a joy it was to present “To The Hands” to a packed house at the incredible and newly renovated St. Joseph Parish in Cockeysville. Sharing the impact our hands have on the world through song was so impactful and we could not have been more honored to premier “Hands” by Z. Randall Stroope, a piece commissioned by and written for Deer Creek Chorale. One chorale member remarked that the “theme became deeply meaningful through text and music and faces and hands.” The intergenerational blessing of having the adult chorale and the youth choir share the stage was a true highlight and, as one chorale member remarked, was a reminder that “music really helps you understand how supported we are with God and his blessings.” Caroline, one of our Vivace youth choir members, said “I was a little nervous for this concert because I had a solo and that always makes me a little scared, but I had a lot of fun and completed the solo! Choir is such a fun way to face any stage fear, because you are singing with your friends.” We are so thankful that the Deer Creek family has a place for singers of all ages.
