Visual artist Joan Hodous shares her work at DCC rehearsal

Joan Hodous, retired Harford County art teacher and master artist shared her painting with Deer Creek Chorale and talked us through her process of creating the work during our chorus rehearsal on Tuesday, October 11th.  Inspired by the text of a choral work we will perform on November 20, 2022, “The Blue Ridge” by Harriet Monroe, Joan has painted a picture of “low-lying mountains sleeping at the edge of the world..in purple robes of kings…covered by mantles of forests…reigning silently.” Great technique and passionate response to an invitation to partner with DCC in bringing art (visual, textual and musical) to the community, are gifts that Joan shares in her beautiful personhood and painting.
